The benefits of walking in nature are manifold, from improving physical health to reducing stress and anxiety. Walking along paths is a pleasant way to combine a physical exercise and the pleasure of discovery.
Select a trail suited to your level. Wear good, comfortable shoes. Don’t forget to wear a cap or a hat and bring sunscreen for protection from the sun. Bring a whistle, a walking stick and a first-aid kit. Don’t forget water and snacks to keep you well hydrated and avoid energy slumps.
Consult the trail map before you start. Check the weather forecast and dress accordingly. If there’s a possibility of a storm, reconsider your plan. Follow the marked paths and trails. It’s best not to go hiking alone, especially on unfamiliar or remote trails. Having the company of a friend is safer and provides good company.
It may be tempting to get close to the animals, but make sure you observe them from a distance and do not feed them. Stay on the paths to preserve the flora and allow it to regenerate. Also, make sure you pick up all your rubbish.
Above all, have fun and stock up on beauty and fresh air. Happy hiking!
